Trailer Fit Guide

A trailer must fit the boat’s length, support the hull and carry its loaded weight. Check all three before ordering; overall trailer length is not the same as compatible boat length.

Tandem-axle aluminum boat trailer in side profile
The tandem trailer is approximately 25 ft overall and lists a 15–18 ft boat-length range.

Start with the listed fit.

Single-axle trailer

Listed for 8–12 ft boats and compatible personal watercraft. Our 12 ft Jon and Utility boats fall within the listed length range.

  • GVWR: 1,500 lb
  • Trailer weight: 260–280 lb
  • Listed payload: 1,220–1,240 lb
  • Coupler: 2 in

The certification label states the exact rating. Check loaded weight and bunk support for the specific boat or PWC.

Tandem-axle trailer

Listed for 15–18 ft boats. Our 16 ft Jon and Utility boats fall within the listed length range.

  • Maximum payload: 7,716 lb
  • Trailer weight: 1,673 lb
  • Listed GVWR: approximately 9,390 lb
  • Tandem torsion axles

Confirm hull support, loaded weight, coupler and tow-vehicle compatibility before ordering.

Ordering a 14 ft boat?

Neither stock trailer’s listed length range includes a 14 ft hull. Contact our team to confirm a compatible trailer before placing the trailer order.

Check the complete load.

1. Loaded boat weight

Hull + motor + fuel + batteries + equipment carried aboard. Compare this total with the trailer’s payload rating.

2. Total towing weight

Loaded boat + trailer + equipment carried on the trailer. Compare the total with the trailer GVWR and the tow vehicle’s rated towing capacity.

3. Hull support

Check bunk position, transom support, winch-post position and overall dimensions. A suitable weight rating alone does not establish a correct fit.

4. Vehicle and connections

Check the vehicle, hitch, coupler, ball, tires and axle ratings. Match the coupler size, wiring and braking requirements for the complete setup.

The lowest applicable equipment rating limits the setup. Use the boat and trailer labels together with the tow vehicle’s specifications.

Bring these details to the fit check.

  • Boat model, overall length and beam
  • Hull weight plus motor, fuel, batteries and gear
  • Photos or dimensions showing hull and transom support points
  • Tow vehicle, hitch rating and coupler/ball details
  • Delivery destination and intended storage space
