The largest jon boat in our lineup: a 16 ft flat-bottom hull built from 5052 marine-grade aluminum with riveted frame construction and a 2 mm hull plate. It carries more people and gear than the smaller jon boats and handles chop better, while still running shallower than a V-hull utility boat of the same length. Tough enough to shrug off the rocks and ramps that crack fiberglass.

Construction

Hull and structure

  • 5052 marine-grade aluminum — the alloy used for hull plate because it tolerates salt water and repeated flexing
  • 2 mm hull plate, riveted frame, reinforced transom for outboard mounting
  • Foam-filled buoyancy compartments

Deck and storage

  • Anti-slip decking and bench seating
  • Sealed storage hatch

Fittings

  • Stainless steel bow eye and carry handles

What's included

  • The complete hull with bench seating, anti-slip decking, sealed storage hatch, foam flotation and stainless bow eye
  • Registration paperwork — the documentation your state agency requires
  • Free standard delivery within the US, 30-day returns, 1-year comprehensive and 5-year structural limited warranty

Not included: outboard motor and trailer, sold separately. This hull belongs on our tandem-axle aluminum boat trailer.

Choosing a motor

Prices are for the hull; like nearly every boat maker, we do not include the outboard. Size the motor to the maximum horsepower on the capacity plate — never above it — and match the shaft length to the transom height. Our outboard guide walks through the decision, or tell us how you will use the boat and we will recommend a range.

Warranty

Every stock boat carries a 1-year limited comprehensive warranty on fittings, decking, seating and hatches, and a 5-year limited structural warranty on the hull plating, frame and transom, from the date of delivery. Read the full warranty.

Delivery and registration

Ships free by scheduled freight anywhere in the US; we confirm your delivery window in writing when you order. Inspect before you sign — our delivery guide shows exactly what to check. You register the boat in your state and we supply the paperwork; the registration guide explains the steps.

Choosing between them

Beam matters as much as length — the same length at a wider beam is a noticeably more stable platform, and you feel it the first time two people move at once. The 16 ft jon boat is the one to pick when you regularly carry passengers and equipment or run bigger water but still want the shallow draft of a flat-bottom hull; a V-hull utility boat trades some of that shallow-water access for a drier ride in chop. Our sizing guide works through the decision, and we are happy to talk it through directly.

Custom builds

Custom lengths are a normal part of what we do, particularly for commercial and special-project work. Tell us the application and we will quote it. Custom and made-to-order builds fall outside the free returns window, since they cannot be resold — we confirm that in writing before accepting a custom order.
