A 25 ft tandem-axle aluminum boat trailer built for reliable transport, with rubber-ride torsion axles for a smoother tow and straighter tracking than leaf springs allow.
Fits at a glance
- Boat length: 15–18 ft
- Loaded boat weight (hull + outboard + fuel + gear): up to 7,716 lb rated — plan around 6,550 lb to stay within the 85% guideline
- Our boats: the right trailer for the Utility Boat 16 ft and Jon Boat 16 ft; the 12 ft boats fit the lighter single-axle trailer. A 14 ft hull falls between the two trailers' rated ranges — call us and we'll confirm the right fit.
Specifications
- Axle configuration: tandem torsion axles (rubber-ride)
- GAWR: 5,200 lb per axle / 10,400 lb combined
- Trailer weight: 1,673 lb / 759 kg
- Maximum payload: 7,716 lb / 3,500 kg
- GVWR: approximately 9,390 lb / 4,259 kg
GVWR is calculated with a built-in safety margin deducted from combined GAWR. Final capacity, coupler size, tire size and brake configuration should be verified against the certified trailer label on your unit — call (833) 822-6737 and we will confirm them for your build before you order. Our coupler guide and brakes guide explain what to match on your tow vehicle and what your state requires.

Why torsion axles
Torsion axles mount independently, ride noticeably smoother, sit lower for easier loading, and have no shackles or bushings to corrode and seize. For salt water or heavily salted winter roads, that last point is the one that decides it. Tandem axles also track straighter and are far less prone to fishtailing at highway speed, and spreading the load across four tires turns a blowout into an inconvenience rather than an emergency.
Will your boat fit?
Payload is the number that answers this, not the axle rating. Add the hull's dry weight, the outboard, a full fuel tank, batteries and the gear you leave aboard — that total is routinely 30% above the advertised dry weight. Then leave margin: the widely used guideline is that the loaded boat should come to no more than 85% of rated capacity. On a 7,716 lb payload, that means planning around 6,550 lb. Our capacity guide walks through GVWR, GAWR, payload and tongue weight in full.
Hull support
The trailer should support the hull along its full running surface with the transom fully supported at the rear. A boat overhanging its bunks develops hook in the hull over time — permanent deformation that costs speed and fuel economy and cannot be undone. Err slightly long rather than slightly short. Send us your boat's length, dry weight and outboard and we will confirm the fit before you buy.
Warranty
1-year limited comprehensive warranty on axles, couplers, winches, lighting and fittings, and a 5-year limited structural warranty on the frame, from the date of delivery. Tires, bunk carpet, straps and bearings are wear items. Read the full warranty.
Delivery and registration
Ships free by scheduled freight anywhere in the US; have your tow vehicle ready to hitch up and roll it off. Inspect before you sign — our delivery guide shows what to check. You register the trailer with your state DMV using the VIN plate and the certificate of origin we supply; the registration guide covers it, including California's PTI program.
